Lee Han Huei – esophageal cancer

His art has been collected by the Yang Dipertuan Agong and has been used extensively as decorations in a lot of distinguished hotels. Recently, the famous artist Lee Han Huei has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. We hope that the public can raise RM 200,000 for him to fight against the disease.
50 years old Lee Han Huei had been living in Kuala Lumpur shortwhile after graduated from Penang Jit Sin Independent High school. He has had plenty of personal or joint art exhibitions in all over the world including Japan, China, Korea and many other countries.
When he was in Beijing last November, he felt unwell and found diagnosed with third stage esophageal cancer and needed to receive treatment without immediately. His family chose to go ahead with the traditional herbal treatment provided by the hospital due to the fact that the operation cost is too expensive and the family can?t afford to pay for it.
After 2 months of the Herbal treatment, there were signs of improvement. However, at this point of time, all of his savings have been used up to pay for his medical treatment. Earlier this year between March and May, One Hope Charity have donated RM 60,000 to assist him in receiving his treatment and also to cover some of his other medical expenses.
In July, his skins and eyes turned yellow. In August, his biliary was obstructed and had to undergo surgery to avoid his cancer cell from spreading.
All these while, Lee sells paintings for his living. Often, he?d save money to go overseas for interact with other artists and constantly seeking for breakthrough in his work of art. Since the diagnosis, he can?t participate in any art exhibition anymore and sometimes he doesn?t even have the energy to paint.
His biggest ambition is to organize a personal art exhibition in his hometown Bukit Mertajam.
Lee?s wife is a housewife, they have a 13 years-old daughter. We sincerely hope that the public will be able to donate this RM 200,000 as part of the medical fees and living expenses for him. Wherease, with regards to the personal art exhibition, we will help to arrange for it to happen when he gets better.
