Serious congenital heart disease has threatened the lives of a Systemic Lupus Erythematosus baby girl and also a hypothyroidism baby boy. Both of them urgently in need of heart surgery to stay alive. Their surgery fees sum up to an amount of RM140,000. We hope that everyone can lend a helping hand and give them a chance to stay alive and recover.

Patient 1: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Baby Girl
Name: Nur Raniatul Aleesya (Born 9 May 2017)
Diagnosis: Pulmonary Atresia/Intact Septum with Hypoplastic RV, Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), Restrictive Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Paediatric Lupus.
Surgery Fee: RM70,000
When her mother was 23-weeks pregnant, her mother suffered from rashes on her left face. After a series of checkups, doctor did not realize that the baby has issue. Her mother successfully gave birth to her in Kulim Hospital and her rashes is gone after giving birth.
After birth, the baby girl received phototherapy daily as her jaundice index is not stable. Doctors also realized that there are rashes on her skin and hence transferred her to Penang’s Government Hospital for further checkups. She was then diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus usually follow by a few complications. The most serious complications are heart diseases or kidney failure. Some of the patient passed away due to the infection. Doctors immediately performed some check and diagnosed the baby girl with the heart diseases as above.
As she was too young to undergo surgery, doctors suggested to use medication to control her heart disease till she is old enough to go for surgery. She is required to go for constant checkups in Penang’s Hospital and Kulim’s Hospital.
In her latest checkup, doctors recommended her to go for surgery soonest possible as her heart condition has deteriorated.
If surgery is delayed, the risk that she will face will increase as she also suffers from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.The surgery fee required is RM70,000.
The baby girl is from Lunas, Kedah. Her father, Syahrin (33) is a welding technician who draws a monthly income of RM2,400 and her mother, Rosnita (31) is a housewife. The baby girl has 2 elder brother who are 6 and 9 years old respectively.
Patient 2: Hypothyroidism Baby Boy
Name: Muhammad Akif Fadli (Born 3 Jan 2018)
Diagnosis: Hypothyroidism, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Aortic Incompetence (AR), Bronchial Hyperresponsiveness, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Surgery Fee: RM70,000
Muhammad Akif Fadli was born prematurely (8 months). When his mother was 7 months pregnant, her ovary bled and was admitted to hospital. In 8 months, her ovary experienced bleeding again and doctors decided to perform a C-section. Baby boy was born in Pulau Langkawi’s Government Hospital. His weight was 2.4kg.
When he was born, he was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and this will also affect other organs. After a series of checkups, doctors found that his heart has major defect and at the same time his lungs was also infected.
His lips sometimes will turn purplish and his condition is not stable. He was monitored in hospital for 22 days. As he is too young, doctors suggested to use medication to control his condition and hoping that his perforated heart will recover itself.
After discharged, he takes constant medication. As his condition is rare and extraordinary, doctors request him to come for checkup constantly.
He is a very active baby and previously suffered from asthma because of him being too active.
Last year in 11 of December, during a checkup in hospital, doctors realize that his heart condition has deteriorated and suggested his parents to send him to hospital for surgery. The surgery requires RM70,000.00.
Baby boy is from Pulau Langkawi and his father, Muhammad Suhaire (36) is a security guard who draws a monthly salary of RM1,700 and his mother Zuraika (30) is a housewife. The baby boy has a 4 years old elder brother.
Both of the families are unable to bear the huge amount of surgery fees and came forward to seek help from us. We hope that the kind-hearted public can donate and help them to gain a second chance in life.
