*RM10,000 has been channelled from the “emergency medical reserve fund”. Hence, One Hope Charity will only launch a fundraising of RM57,400 for this case.*

A 49-year-old father from Malacca, Alias bin Mohd Yunos, who used to support his family by selling nasi lemak, recently suffered two heart attacks, and doctors diagnosed him with Mitral Regurgitation (MR) and Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP). He urgently needs Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) surgery.

Unable to work due to his illness, his children were forced to stop their education to take over selling nasi lemak to make ends meet.

They are seeking assistance to raise RM67,400 for the surgery, hoping that once the heart issue is resolved, Alias can continue to work and support his family.

Alias expressed his desire to fulfill his responsibilities, take care of his children, and give back to the community by helping others in need. He humbly asks for support to get through this difficult time.

【Always healthy and active in various sports, he suddenly experienced angina, causing him great concern as he still has a wife and children to support】

The 49-year-old man, who used to lead an active lifestyle, hiking and cycling with friends, began experiencing difficulty breathing in October last year. Along with this, he suffered from angina and insomnia, initially attributing it to asthma and allergies.

In November last year, he had his first heart attack and was hospitalized for four days. However, his health declined significantly after discharge. He struggled with physical exertion, experienced breathing difficulties, and couldn't climb stairs or run. His overall well-being deteriorated, and he faced challenges sleeping.

Concerned about his weakened condition, he refrained from riding motorcycles due to the fear of accidents. His health worsened to the point that he collapsed while cleaning a large pot and was rushed to the hospital.

Having experienced two more heart attacks this year, he took sublingual tablets to alleviate the symptoms. Medical tests confirmed that he needed heart valve surgery. The surgery was crucial, but the waiting time for the procedure was uncertain.

During a National Heart Center (IJN) exhibition offering free check-ups, he seized the opportunity and discovered that his heart function had dropped from 70% to around 50%. His condition was critical, and surgery was urgently needed to repair his heart.

Alias, and his wife, Surina Binti Ali (51 years old), run a stall selling nasi lemak, earning a modest income of over a thousand ringgit per month. They have six children, with the eldest two pursuing tertiary education, the third child (20 years old) temporarily stopping studies to help the mother, and the youngest three (14, 11, and 10 years old) still in primary and secondary school.

After consideration, ONE HOPE CHARITY has decided to assist in fundraising for the necessary medical expenses. The family has agreed to entrust the fundraising activities to the charity, which will collect the donations.
