75 years old lady who stay on her own suffers from kidney stone. She experiences terrible pain and is crying for help. One Hope Charity will assist to raise an amount of RM21,000 for surgery fee.
Between earning a living and treating sickness, what would you choose?
Law Ah Fong @ Lau Kim Fong, 75, who is from Simpang Ampat Penang choose to work hard and earn a living but unfortunately, sickness accompanies her. Her kidney stone is worsening, and the pain is unbearable. She hopes that surgery can lessen her pain and suffering and hoping that the generous society can help her to escape from the pain.
She works as a babysitter all these while to earn a living. Even she sometimes experiencing stomach-ache, she will just bear with the pain and continue her work. In November 2020, she suddenly had unbearable pain and blood in urine. She went to hospital and doctor injected her with pain killer without any further checkups.
The pain killer is only a temporary relief and after that, she still experiencing terrible pain. She had no choice but to go to specialist center for checkup in 21st Nov. She was diagnosed with kidney stone on both of her kidneys and her kidney has already swollen. Her surgery is risky, and doctor do not recommend to undergo surgery for both kidneys in one go.
She used all her savings and sold her gold for her first surgery. She underwent left kidney surgery where doctor clean up the stones in her left kidney. After the surgery, she still experiences pain and blood in urine.
Doctor suggested that a second surgery is required to clean up the stones in her right kidney and removing the supporting frame after 2 weeks. The surgery cost of RM21,000 is unable to be paid by her as she had depleted her savings.
She works as a babysitter previously and drawing a monthly salary of RM800. She receives RM350 aid from welfare department. Due to her condition, she is not able to work and do not have any income. Her husband passed away many years ago and she has a 53 years old daughter. She lost her job as a factory operator. She has no choice but to ask for help from One Hope Charity.
When One Hope Charity visited her, she begs us to lend a helping hand so that she can be pain free.
