"My daughter has been diagnosed with congenital heart disease since childhood. For the past 16 years, she has relied on medication to alleviate her condition. Seeing her suffer so much recently, I am heartbroken and deeply worried that her heart may suddenly fail. Please, I implore everyone to help save her!"

Sixteen-year-old Mieazara Nurqistina Bt Ismail from Kedah, has been battling congenital heart disease since infancy. However, the necessary surgery has been repeatedly postponed. Now, her condition has worsened, and her single mother is seeking RM 80,000 for the surgery.

When Mieazara was just two months old, she was found to have three holes in her heart, with two of them closing on their own with medication. However, one hole still requires monitoring. She has always had a weak immune system, prone to illness, averaging 4-5 illnesses per month, with frequent fevers and hospital visits. Recently, she has been experiencing difficulty breathing, becoming breathless from walking and climbing stairs. Following regular check-ups, doctors have advised that her condition has deteriorated and surgery is necessary to prolong her life.

【Recent tests have revealed a worsening condition, indicating the need for surgery to repair both the small holes in the heart and to widen the narrowed blood vessels. Without this surgery, there is a risk of the heart condition worsening and potentially leading to heart failure at any time】

Mieazara Nurqistina was diagnosed with three small holes in her heart at the age of 2 months. Doctors informed her family that the holes could close on their own, so she only required medication and regular check-ups.

At the age of 12, during a follow-up appointment, doctors found that two of the holes had closed on their own, but one remained open and required surgery to repair the heart defect. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, the surgery could not proceed.

In early January of this year, during another follow-up appointment, doctors discovered that her condition had worsened. Not only did she have a ventricular septal defect (VSD) and early aortic regurgitation (AR), but she also had pulmonary stenosis (PS). She needed surgery to repair the heart defects and widen the narrowed blood vessels. The surgery cost RM80,000, a sum that her single mother, Nashroh bt Abd Manas (42 years old), couldn't afford.

Mieazara's father, Ismail bin Abdul Malek, passed away from heart disease in 2010. Nashroh works as a cook in a school cafeteria, earning RM1,200 per month, supplemented by a monthly assistance of RM500 from a social welfare to raise her daughter. She also supports her 75-year-old father's living expenses, leaving her struggling financially every month with no ability to afford the surgery.

After a home visit and assessment, One Hope Charity decided to assist in raising the RM80,000 needed for the surgery. The family agreed to entrust the fundraising activities to the ONE HOPE CHARITY, which will also collect the donations. One Hope Charity will allocate RM5,000 from its "Emergency Medical Reserve Fund" for this case.
