He often felt numbness in his right hand, and it was difficult for him to speak fluently. He needed time to think before he could express himself. He went for treatment, and the doctor diagnosed him with a "stroke in young adults". The cause of his stroke is believed to be the hole in his heart.

【If he does not undergo surgery, he will suffer from brain haemorrhage again, which might lead to another stroke in the future】

Nazrizal Bin Nasip from Negeri Sembilan started to feel numbness in his right hand in June last year. However, the numbness only lasted for a short period, so he did not take it seriously. About a month later, he realised that he could not hold things and could not feel with his right hand. He later could not distinguish between left and right and started having speech and expression problems. He often made mistakes in his text messages too.

He went to the hospital for emergency treatment. He stayed in the hospital for nearly a month and underwent various tests and examinations. The doctor finally found a blood clot in his left brain vessel. The doctor immediately performed surgery to expand the blood vessel and prescribed him medications, but his condition did not improve much after the surgery. After another round of thorough checks, the doctor discovered a hole in his heart: a patent foramen ovale (PFO). PFO was the main cause of the blood clot in his brain vessel.

The doctor told him if the hole is not closed, blood clots may appear again in his cerebral blood vessels or even other parts or organs of his body. He may also suffer another stroke when he gets older, so he needs heart repair surgery urgently.

【His life and work are being affected by the stroke, making him feel stressed】

His health condition had inconvenienced his life and affected his daily work. He had just joined a convenience store for about three months as an inventory assistant before he was diagnosed with a stroke. Earlier, he earned RM1,700 a month, but he went off from work for nearly eight months for examinations in the hospital, surgery and recovery, of which five months was unpaid leave.

And now, he has returned to work but still cannot speak fluently, which sometimes causes misunderstandings in his communications with others. In addition, his job requires him to deal with a lot of numbers, which sometimes makes him feel a headache. His working speed has reduced compared to last time, which makes him feel stressed.

Work stress coupled with financial pressure brought by the surgery, Nazrizal Nasip is at a loss. He is renting a house with six people in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. He uses a motorcycle to move around.

Although his income is not high, he often gives his mother and younger brother pocket money. His father passed away many years ago, and his mother cared for five children alone. Her eldest sister and third sister are married and have moved out. His second brother works in a factory in Shah Alam, and his youngest brother studies at a polytechnic college in Malacca.

Considering the surgery's urgency and financial constraints, Nazrizal Nasip decided to seek assistance from One Hope Charity.

After reviewing the case following a home visit, One Hope Charity decided to assist him in raising RM45,000 for his surgery. Nazrizal Nasip and his family agreed to fully authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
