Nur Shakira Bt Mohd Najmi from Sik, Kedah, is the younger sibling of a pair of twins. Her elder sister was born healthy, but she was not so lucky. She was cyanotic when she was born and was diagnosed with severe congenital heart disease. She stayed in a hospital for three months, relying on a breathing aid.

The baby girl will occasionally become cyanotic and short of breath. During a regular follow-up visit, the doctor told the parents she could now undergo heart repair surgery. However, her parents are worried as they cannot afford the surgical fee.

【The couple was excited to welcome their twins' arrival, but the fetus's development was affected due to narrow spaces in the womb. The doctor decided to give the pregnant mother a caesarean section in the eighth month of pregnancy】

The parents were looking forward to the arrival of their twins. Unexpectedly, the growth space of the fetus was limited, so the doctor decided to give the mother a caesarean section in the eighth month of her pregnancy. The elder sister was born at 1.9kg, but the younger weighed only 1.2kg. The younger sister's oxygen level dropped drastically immediately after birth, and her whole body was cyanotic. The doctor referred her to a general hospital for a thorough examination. She was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart disease.

The novice parent did not know their child's condition until a week later. The mother, who was in confinement, fainted after hearing the news. She has cried almost every day since then. She could only pray for the best and did not know what could be done next.

When she was three months old, the baby underwent her first surgery to install a stent. The surgery temporarily relieved her condition, and she could stop relying on a breathing aid. However, she still experiences cyanosis and shortness of breath, so the doctor told the parents she needed heart repair surgery when she is 10kg.

The baby girl went for regular follow-up visits at the hospital. Although she is 5.6kg, the doctor said she is suitable for surgery. However, the parents are worried as they cannot afford RM80,000 in surgical expenses.

Her 32-year-old father, Mohd Najmi Bin Abdul Jamil, is a lawnmower repairman with a monthly salary of RM1,500. Her 30-year-old mother, Noraishah bt Zaukipeli, is a housewife.
