Abdul Rahim has been transferred to another hospital for an emergency surgery within the golden window. The surgery went smoothly and he is currently being put under observation in the intensive care unit. He will be transferred back to Seberang Jaya Hospital once his condition is stable.
According to his wife, Salasiah Binti Nasri, the husband was unable to speak on the first day after he was admitted to the hospital. Half of his body was also unable to move. However, the husband was able to speak again on the day after the surgery.
“My husband is the sole breadwinner of our family, and I am responsible to send and fetch my son from school, as well as doing the house chores. My son and I are very anxious, we hope that he can get through this difficult time safely and return home healthy.”
In order to earn more money to support the family, 55-year-old man Abdul Rahim Bin Hassan rides on a motorcycle to travel from Bagan Serai in Perak to Bukit Mertajam in Penang several days in a week for work. The journey takes more than an hour but he never complained about it. He hopes to earn more money so that he can provide a better life for his family.
And now, the surgical fee he needed has been successfully raised. Hence, the fundraising will be stopped immediately. The family is very grateful to the public for their assistance, allowing the head of their family to undergo surgery within the golden period. They hope that he can recover soon and return home to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with them.
