Lee Sai Ping, a 35 years old man from Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, has been suffering from back pain since he was in his 20s. The doctor could not find the cause, so he only prescribed painkillers.

In June 2019, his condition suddenly deteriorated, and his cervical vertebrae became bent obviously. The examination report showed that he had ankylosing spondylitis, which was the main cause of his scoliosis.

The doctor suggested that he undergo surgery. Else, scoliosis will press on the nerves and internal organs, and cause him to lose his mobility and gradually become paralyzed. Although there is a risk of paralysis after surgery, There is also the possibility of recovery. After thinking twice, he decided to give it a shot.

After the operation was delayed for two years due to the outbreak of COVID-19, he finally underwent the surgery on March 29. The surgery was very successful. After a few days of observation, he can be discharged on April 1.

He has to wear back support so that he can recover smoothly. He said that his current condition is very ideal. After the surgery, he can walk. Although the wound is painful, he believes that won't last long.
