“The baby was immediately sent to the incubator right after she was born, we didn’t even get to hold her. But I want to thank everyone here for your help, because today, we got to take our healthy child home!”

Do you remember Muhammad Hafiy, the young boy who was born with an undeveloped pair of lungs? He was in the hospital for treatment for about a month, but now, both sides of his lungs are completely developed. The ones who are most happy to hear about the news are his parents, who could not have held him in their arms until today.

The baby boy from Ipoh was diagnosed with undeveloped lungs, a hole in his heart and cardiovascular stenosis. But the biggest problem at hand was his lungs.

Hence, Muhammad Hafiy had to stay in the NICU ward for 2-3 weeks, with a medical fee of around RM110,000. During this period, doctors have given him medication for treatment to ensure that the baby boy’s lungs are in stable condition. Plus, the doctor also diagnosed him with G6PD deficiency.

To the parents, Ainol Hakim bin Honan and Zainorina binti Zaina, the huge medical bill had left them hopeless, plus seeing their newborn child covered in tubes had also left them heartbroken.

After One Hope Charity had launched the fundraisers, we managed to raise RM110,000 in such a short time, and after around a month long of treatment, the baby boy’s lungs are finally fully developed and ready to be discharged.

The day of their child’s discharge was the most exciting day for their parents. They are thankful for all of you kind-hearted donors who have reached out to them and helped them when they needed the most. Today, the baby can safely leave the hospital, all thanks to you.
