17 years old teenager should be active but due to chemotherapy, he had stopped schooling for treatment. Suitable bone marrow has been found but due to his condition, he is required to complete his chemotherapy before the transplant. We hope that the generous public could lend a helping hand and assisting him to accumulate RM120,000 for chemotherapy treatment, allowing him to go for bone marrow transplant in December.

Khoo Kai Xuan, 17, is from Cheras. He was diagnosed with leukaemia after he suffered from high fever in October.

His parents were devastated when doctor explains the report as their son is very active in sports.

After he was diagnosed, Khoo stopped schooling to receive treatment. His first 5 chemotherapy did not show any sign of improvement and doctors suggested that Blinatumomab chemotherapy is required to control the cancer cell. Doctors suggested him to continue using Blinatumomab until the day of bone marrow transplant.

The 2 session of Blinatumomab chemotherapy was sponsored by the medication company but his family is unable to bear the expenses of the continuous treatment. As a result, they came forward to seek help from us and hoping that the generous public could help him.

Suitable bone marrow has been found but he requires to complete Blinatumomab chemo before the transplant

The bone marrow of his parents is not suitable to be transplanted after test until the last month, they received good news from the hospital stating that suitable bone marrow has been found.

According to the medical report from Ampang Hospital, he will be going for bone marrow transplant in December but due to his condition, he is not able to go for transplant surgery unless he finished Blinatumomab chemotherapy.

Blinatumomab chemo has brought positive impact towards his condition and we hope that the generous public could lend a helping hand and allowing him to go for the transplant surgery.

Khoo’s father, Khoo Chong How, 44, is a food product salesman who draws a monthly salary of RM3,600 and his mother, Chow Chooi Thin, 43, is a housewife. Khoo and a younger brother who is currently 14 years old.
