Due to car accident, her pacemaker had failed and causing her other organs to be affected. She urgently requires RM100,000 for surgery.
Since birth, Teo Hui Ru suffers from serious congenital heart disease. Yesterday, she was involved in an accident when she was on her way for checkup. The pacemaker which was previously inserted in her heart had malfunction and causing her lungs to be affected. Her family hope that the generous society could lend a helping hand to save her life.
Teo Hui Ru was diagnosed with congenital heart diseases which includes perforated heart, malformation of arteries etc. When she was 15 months old, she underwent her first surgery but her heart failed to beat normally. As a result, doctors inserted a pacemaker.
After the surgery, she grew up healthily. In 2012, she again underwent heart surgery to change a new pacemaker and heart valve replacement surgery. She is required to go for checkup every 6 months.
On 21st Feb, When her father was fetching her from Johor to KL for checkup, they were involved in an accident and causing her pacemaker to fail.
Her father urgently got a cab and send her to hospital for checkup. Doctor confirmed that her pacemaker had failed and requires to change a new one.
Doctors also realized that her pulmonary arteries were also affected. Doctors suggested that the surgery of changing pacemaker and fixing her pulmonary arteries should be carried together.
This accident causes her heart condition to became more serious and requires urgent surgery. The surgery cost RM100,000 and her family is unable to bear the expenses.
Teo Hui Ru is currently in form 3. Her father Teo Wee Kiong, 42, is a fire extinguisher sales & technician who draws a salary of RM4000 monthly. Her mother, Tay Lee Chu, 41, is a housewife. She has a twin sister who is also 15 years old, 10 years old younger brother and a 7 years old younger sister.
