Urgent Fundraising – Muhammad Aidan Saqeef (Heart Disease)

URGENT

100%

It’s been almost a month since he was born, but the day for him to go home is still far away. The newborn suffering from heart disease has been in the intensive care unit with assistive devices since he was born. Baby boy Muhammad Aidan Saqeef Bin Mohamud Syafirza needs to undergo a surgery that cost RM90,000 within the golden window to save his life.

Baby Muhammad Aidan Saqeef will have to undergo at least three heart surgeries in his life, and the priority now is to undergo his first heart repair surgery before he can go hom to his parents. His parents plead all kind-hearted individuals to save their child, so that he can continue survive.

The mother of the baby boy from Penaga, North Seberang Prai, was diagnosed with gestational diabetes when she was four months pregnant. Therefore, she was extra cautious throughout her pregnancy.

During a check-up at the end of February, the doctor found that the heartbeat of the fetus was getting slower and slower, so the doctor immediately performed an emergency caesarean section to get the baby out. And the baby was rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit immediately. After a thorough examination, the baby was diagnosed with serious heart disease.

The baby is still in the neonatal intensive care unit. He must rely on an oxygen machine to breathe and a tube to feed. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the hospital does not allow frequent visits from the parents, and the parents are worried about their baby’s condition.

The hospital referred the baby boy to a neonatal cardiologist, and after the specialist’s diagnosis, he was confirmed to have right ventricular hypoplastic, ventricular septal defect (VSD), aortic arch hypoplasia, patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), excessive pulmonary blood flow (PBF) and other problems.

The specialist said that the baby boy’s heart problems are serious. When the oxygen and blood oxygen rushed to the lungs, it will cause high pulmonary pressure, so he needs a heart repair surgery to survive, and the baby boy needs to undergo at least three surgeries by stages – when he is a newborn, when he reaches two to three years old, and when he is five to six years old. And the first surgical fee is RM90,000.

Few days ago, the baby vomited and showed signs of breathlessness. The doctor informed that his situation has deteriorated, and he was also severely hypoxic, so he needs to undergo the surgery as soon as possible.

His 25-year-old father Mohamad Syafirza Bin Sazali is a vegetable seller. He goes to Kodiang in Kedah to purchase vegetables from the villagers every week before selling it at the Bukit Mertajam Market. He earns about RM2,000 a month and he has no employees.

His 25-year-old mother Aida Sabrina Binti Alwi was a clerk with a monthly salary of RM1,200. However, she quitted her job after she became pregnant. This is their first child after marriage, and they have never thought that they have to face so many challenges after their baby was born.

After reviewing the case, One Hope Charity decided to help baby Muhammad Aidan Saqeef Bin Mohamud Syafirza to raise his medical expenses. His family agreed to fully authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
